LIVE A POSITIVE LIFE. INFLUENCE OTHERS.
Professional makeup artists fascinate me.
They always seem to have this magical ability to enhance beauty not by a bag of tricks but a handful of quality makeup.
The internet, youtube in particular, has made makeup application almost an easy task to learn. With just a keystroke, those who get absorbed into the videos of my favorite ‘makeup gurus’ Michelle Phan, Bubzbeauty (Lindy Tsang) and Xteener of Youtube receive the formula of color combination to achieve the ‘glam everyday look’, ‘the gyaru look’, ‘the romantic valentine look’ and even makeup for those who wear eyeglasses. I use makeup but I am not as adept as they are in combining colors for the face. I must admit, I view a lot of their videos if I have an important event that I need to attend. ^_^ I am happy to say that I usually get compliments for doing makeup inspired by these notable gurus. ^;^
Last week, I was invited to a makeup workshop conducted by Jenny de Castro, Motives cosmetics certified Trainer and professional coordinator.
Imagine my delight when I walked into a room full of one of my favorite things in the world – makeup! Quality makeup, that is!

Motives cosmetics is an American brand formulated by Loren Ridinger, senior vice-president of Marketamerica.com and SHOP.com who was one of Vogue magazine’s top 100 influential women.
The brand has been here locally for a year under Market Philippines. The makeup workshop is also a sort of a mini-celebration of Market Philippines’ first year anniversary. Thus, the anniversary package the participants received which included a dual perfection pressed powder, a primer, a lipstick and a brow kit.
“Motives is a premium brand infused with Vitamins A, C, and E. It is non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. It will not clog your pores and will not cause allergy to your skin. It is highly pigmented and micro-pulverized. It is smaller than your pores so it will lock into your face naturally,” de Castro explained to the workshop participants.

A quality that makes this brand stand out among all the other giants in the beauty business are the antioxidants that are incorporated in it. “It is like wearing vitamins into the skin,” says the affable Liz Tanchuco, Motives country manager.

It was a busy day for everyone who wanted to learn from the pros.

I don’t really use a makeup primer so I had to thank the wonderful Cha for sharing this bit of information to me: “When applying primer, it should be in a downward stroke so as not to go against the natural growth direction of the hair on the face.
