LIVE A POSITIVE LIFE. INFLUENCE OTHERS.

The goodness of God

Many of us already know how great the Lord is - how he pours out blessings to His children because He loves us unconditionally. But this past three weeks have just been so overwhelming that I find myself almost losing count of His many blessings.
Day by day, God has a surprise for me. He has cleverly lined up a parade of His favor in the past weeks. When someone helped me out on a task I’ve been dealing with for so many days , that’s God sending me help; when people gave me special treats just because it was my natal day, that’s God telling me how special I am; when an answer came to me on a question that has been on my mind for several days, that’s God telling me the right thing to do; when new friendships blossomed, that’s God giving me more of his finest men and women to inspire me and guide me; when God sent me free tickets to watch a beautiful musical with my best friend whom I have not seen for quite a long time, that’s God blessing our friendship. I could make a rundown of all His favor and two pages may never be enough. Thing is, I have become sensitive to each and every blessing God pours out on me. To some, it may be coincidence. But for me, it’s God showing His loving nature.
Tears always come rolling down my face everytime I am touched by His presence. I often ask myself what makes me special, why He chose me for his blessings. I found that when I resolved to truthfully do my best in obeying God and telling the world how big and merciful He is, I came to know Him more. Of course, I am not perfect and there are days when my imperfection comes in. But as long as God sees my heart, I know he understands me.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” John 15:16, New International Version (NIV)
I am always in awe how everything works out just fine for me. In the past, I used to worry a lot. I worried about small things, I worried about big things. I was a different person then and I am a better person now because I’ve learned that I cannot control everything. I just have to trust the one who cares a lot about me.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (English Standard Version)
I wish I could write into words and tell you how much God is willing and able to heal you, forgive you and give you a blessed and abundant life. I wish I could tell you how much He has changed me and how overwhelmed I am by His love. But I know God touches us in different ways. Sometimes, He sends a revelation of His glory through an event in our life or He sends a person who will reach out to us in ways we have never imagined. May God touch your life and May he prosper you so that you could bless others as well.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” Jeremiah 29:11-13 New International Version (NIV)
