LIVE A POSITIVE LIFE. INFLUENCE OTHERS.
There is strength in numbers, they say, and AVON certainly demonstrated this in yesterday’s Kiss Goodbye Breast Cancer (KGBC) walk and fun run at Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The event was held to encourage everyone to participate in the battle against Breast Cancer by gathering 125,000 ‘kisses of support’ for breast cancer patients. For background information, read story here.

(Hosts Lyn Ching and Rhian Ramos announce one of the winners of the run. Bob Briddon, Avon’s senior Vice President for Asia Pacific and China awards the medal to the winner.)

Avon’s new endorser, the very pretty Jasmine Curtis cheerfully posed for souvenir photos with the VIPs and the press after she announced the fresh-faced runner of the day.

It was my first time to join such an event and I almost quit in the middle but my friend encouraged me to finish the whole course.

Even these adorable ones joined the walk. ^-^

The presence of Ms. Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup made everyone excited.
I do not have the exact number of people who joyfully participated in the event. But I do hope everyone who woke up really early to walk four kilometers despite the bed weather understood the reason behind the event –to support breast cancer patients.
There is strength in numbers they say, but I also believe in what our pastor said in a recent leaders’ convergence: “It’s not about the numbers – it’s about how serious people are.”
I do hope that events like this will not be treated as a mere social gathering but an opportunity to educate people and inspire them to have themselves involved in the cause in their own way.
Maybe you have time to pray for breast cancer patients. Maybe you have money to donate for the charity patients. Maybe you have time to volunteer in activities that cater to the patients or in dispensing information and awareness to the public.
It’s about knowing your strength and dedicating it for the benefit of those who are in need.
