LIVE A POSITIVE LIFE. INFLUENCE OTHERS.

Their own brand of music

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NIV)

Some people just bring us so much joy and inspiration in their own sincere ways.

Thing is, many of them are unaware that they touch our lives just by doing what they do best.

I have heard a lot of music teams in the church that I attend and I must say that all of them are truly wonderful. I may know how to carry a tune but to actually have the guts to stand up there and lead people to worship is something that I reserve just for my imagination. But these people are just so amazing; some of them even led me to tears at one point or another during worship. It’s not just the vocal acrobatics of the singers or the synchronicity of the instruments; it’s the whole gesture of singing for the Lord and recognizing His presence – something that worship teams are just so adept in doing.

But of all the music teams that I have encountered, this particular group truly struck me in awe.

As they sang on stage, I could not help but think how amazing they are in using their God-given talents to lead people into praise. It’s only been my second time to hear them but in the middle of the song, I made several mental tabs to approach them after the service and to interview them for a blog entry. I just thought they have a lot more to share that would inspire God’s people…and I am not mistaken.

PJ (in white) said it’s an honor to sing for the King of Kings and that is where he draws his inspiration whenever he comes up on stage. The result: a heartfelt devotion to the Lord.

“Yes there are times when I don’t feel like singing or even going to church but I think about His blessings in the past and I say to myself ‘now it’s my turn to do something for Him’,” PJ related.

“In my case, I just started this year and initially, I thought I may not be ready for it. But when I think about God, I feel encouraged. I am singing for the Lord and not just to show off my talent,” Neil (fourth from left) said.

On alternate Sundays, PJ and Neil along with the rest of the music team, Van, Jerson, AJ, Edward and Nathan really give it all for the Lord.

…and they always succeed in inspiring us.
