AVON kisses breast cancer goodbye
There is strength in numbers, they say, and AVON certainly demonstrated this in yesterday’s Kiss Goodbye Breast Cancer (KGBC) walk and fun run at Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The event was held to encourage everyone to participate in the battle against Breast Cancer by gathering 125,000 ‘kisses of support’ for breast cancer patients. For background information, read story here.

The AVON Extralasting Mascara and my favorite...
My favorite Maybelline mascara died today.
I know I shouldn’t use this beyond its shelf life which is anywhere between three to six months. I loved this mascara so much, I used it ‘til it dried up. Truth is, I even felt bad when I finally tossed it in the bin.
But I have to move on and I have decided to finally use the Avon extra lasting mascara that I received about a month...

September favorites and how to apply false...
I know it’s already October but I found myself swamped with so many ideas last month that I wasn’t able to post my picks for September.
Anyway, I’d like to begin with Motives cosmetics Lip Shine in Tropical Sherbet.
I’m fond of using this lipgloss for its sweet candy scent. When I apply it on my lips, it tastes like milkshake. Its sweet candy scent blends well with its taste giving me a...

Why you need to find people who inspire you
Searching the web for inspirational quotes one day, my eyes delighted upon reading these messages from the great nun from Calcutta, Mother Teresa:
“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.” “If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.” “If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.” “The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow....

On courtesy and Kindness
I was enjoying the last slices of my roasted chicken in this well-known fast food outlet when my eyes widened upon seeing traces of blood on the chicken meat and the chicken bone. The funny thing about this is that my shock led me to swallow the meat in my mouth in a split second.
As I reached out for my glass of water, hoping to push down the slightly raw chicken on my throat, a waiter passed...

My mane story: Revlon Professional Weekend
The invitation said Revlon Professional Makeover Weekend.
Initially, I thought we would be enjoying a makeup session. Turned out, our tresses are in for an exciting treat in an otherwise ordinary Sunday afternoon.
Upon arriving at the Revlon office in Pasig city, our ‘before makeover’ pictures were taken. As I posed before the camera, I thought of the before and after pictures we usually see on...

AVON celebrates its 125th anniversary with 125,000...
I’m sure many of us grew up seeing an AVON product in the house.
I remember enjoying the lovely scent of ‘sweet honesty’ when I was in my early teens and sprinkling the body powder ‘Imari’ all over my body just before I go to school. I was already in my 20’s when I realized that the scent was overpowering for a teenage girl like me. ^-^
Avon was founded by David H. Mc Connell at a time when women...

Their own brand of music
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NIV)
Some people just bring us so much joy and inspiration in their own sincere ways.
Thing is, many of them are unaware that they touch our lives just by doing what they do best.
I have heard a lot of music teams in the church that I attend and I must...

MOTIVES COSMETICS WORKSHOP
Professional makeup artists fascinate me.
They always seem to have this magical ability to enhance beauty not by a bag of tricks but a handful of quality makeup.
The internet, youtube in particular, has made makeup application almost an easy task to learn. With just a keystroke, those who get absorbed into the videos of my favorite ‘makeup gurus’ Michelle Phan, Bubzbeauty (Lindy Tsang) and...

The search for the Practical Fashionista Beauty...
On September 3, a leading international cosmetics line that recently made local cosmetics shelves more colorful is conducting a half-day makeup tutorial session. A professional makeup artist will lead the Motives cosmetics workshop that will start at 12:30 PM on the 13th floor of the Philamlife tower, 8767 Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.
I’m looking for one practical fashionista *beauty buddy* to...

August favorites
It’s a day before the end of August and I am posting about the products that I am loving this month.
First is the Etude house Aloha two two kiss lip tint.
This beauty product is basically a lip tint on one end and gloss on the other
It is a sweet pink that does not scream “I am here! I am here!” but will definitely be appreciated by people who love natural-looking pinks on their lips. It is...

The Thrifted Series
A lot of fashion enthusiasts revel at amazing finds that are truly practical.
Many smart fashionistas I know now have some pieces of clothing that they sourced from bazaars and from the ukay-ukay stores. Contrary to what many believe, not all clothes from the ukay-ukay are second hand clothing. A lot of the clothes there, especially if the store says their clothes ‘have newly arrived’, would even...

I had a great time attending the Second Blogger Manila Fiesta in SM Cyberzone last weekend.
Though it wasn’t my first time to come up on stage and give a presentation, I felt momentarily terrified to stand in front of you guys. But you were all so terrific and warm. Thank you very much. Thank you for appreciating my talk. I appreciated your response even more.
I received some requests to...

There’s something intriguing about a celebrity doing altruistic deeds that makes him or her ubiquitous for the next seven days or so – until something bigger comes up or until another star does the ‘next big deed’.
When Enchong Dee came by the Department of Health office this week and donated blood in his desire to help dengue patients, he also sort of glamorized the act of donating blood,...

Look what I got in the mail:
They say half of the excitement in receiving presents can be attributed to the beauty of how the gift was packaged. This logo of human heart nature certainly made my heart leap in anticipation of the goodies inside.
Wow! a toner, eye makeup, lotion and facial wash
I’ve been using this balancing facial wash about two weeks now and I’m really loving...

There’s something beautiful about men supporting and promoting advocacies concerning women.
Seeing fathers doting and actually taking care of their little ones always sends a warm touch to my mushy heart making me appreciate the role of fathers even more.
This probably stems from the fact that I grew up with just one parent in the house, my father. To me and my sisters, he is both...

REAL BEAUTY
This week my blog was reborn.
Not that it has totally departed from its original concept but I am going to include all the things I’ve always wanted to share – all things beautiful that go beyond the latest in fashion, beauty and pop culture.
As I have written in my introduction in the upper right corner of my blog “There are many things in life that are beautiful and exciting and these go...
